Raking, dethatching, bed cleanup and leaf removal at both ends of the season.
Spring cleanup starts once the lawn is firm enough to walk on without leaving prints, usually mid to late April in Kanata. We rake out snow mould and plow-damaged edges, pick up winter debris, cut back perennials and edge the beds.
Fall cleanup comes after most leaves are down, late October into November. Leaves are raked or mulched, beds are cut back, and gutters can be cleared on the same visit.
City of Ottawa collection takes leaf and yard waste in paper bags or labelled containers, not plastic, and branches under 7 cm across in bundles. We bag to those rules or haul it away if you prefer.
